God’s Will Or Trump’s Will?

Last Updated on August 5, 2026 by Marilyn

The Creator gave us life-not a specific religion we must all follow. The United States is not legally a Christian nation because the Constitution prohibits the establishment of a national religion, thereby ensuring freedom of religion for all citizens. I have been searching to determine whether President Donald Trump and members of Congress use their voices and votes to serve God’s Will or Trump’s Will.

We rise, or we fall together.

Let’s get real. The only Americans who benefited from words on pieces of paper from the jump were White men. Native Americans, Black and Hispanic communities, immigrants of all cultures, Trans or Gay people, people living with disabilities, women, and advocates for children and families have had to fight for the same rights for decades and centuries and still have to.

I hope that you will read this post and ask yourself: Are these the actions of a Christian President, or just empty words and false promises to keep people believing in him and voting for him?

Is Donald Trump honoring the oath he took to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic? Does he live a life of faith, and is Trump a man of his word?

At the top, there are photos of the Constitution and of a quill pen and feathers used for writing way back when.
UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION FIRST AMENDMENT SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

The United States was not established as a Christian nation (although that is what the Christian Nationalists are trying to make happen). Legally, the United States is a secular nation with no official religion and was founded to protect religious freedom for all.

Currently, approximately 62-63% of Americans identify as Christian. 28-30% choose other faiths.

Personally, I had a Christian upbringing in a Bible-based Southern Baptist Church. When I turned 18, I chose a more spiritual path, and I am a member of the Unity Spiritual Center.

Unity teaches people to see the face of God in every person we meet. It is Christ-centered and believes God’s unconditional love and light are inside each of us. There is no separation. We are guided to treat people the way we want to be treated with love, kindness, respect, forgiveness, and as a child of God.

In my political posts, I always say that I am not anti-Trump. I am pro-human rights and pro-truth. I believe that God and Jesus are the greatest champions of human rights, and a Christian president would follow Scripture and their guidance on how to treat other people.

REPRESENTATIVE JASMINE CROCKETT TAKE DOWN OF MAGA

History Doesn’t Change Because It Makes You Uncomfortable

Representative Crockett serves on the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. In a recent session, she said this:

“Welcome to the Republicans’ White Pride Rally disguised as a Congressional hearing. It might be uncomfortable for some people on this committee to hear about the true history of America. And I hate that for them, but facts are facts.

It’s a fact that there is a violent, exclusionary, discriminatory, sexist, and racist part of American history where our indigenous populations were forcibly displaced from their land.

Where thousands of Black people were unjustly lynched; where Black people were denied the right to vote, and Republicans are still trying to do it today.

Where women needed their husbands’ permission to open a bank account.

Where people with disabilities were routinely excluded from schools, workplaces, and public life.

Where four little girls were murdered by the KKK at the 16th Street Baptist Church, and a lot of this happened not so long ago.”

Why are Republicans so obsessed and determined to hide the truth of the history of our country?” Could the reason be that the history of the United States is loaded with greed and killing, and nothing “Christian” about it?

White House Website

The information and lack of information on the White House website is very telling. When you go to the White House website, the first thing you see is a video featuring the United States military and Donald Trump. As we know, Trump always has to play the role of the strong man.

Drawing of Lady Liberty calling attention to the words of the Preamble to the Constitution.
PREAMBLE TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION DETAILS THE GOALS OF THE CONSTITUTION

My educated guess is that Donald Trump has never read the Preamble, nor would he care about what it says.

Trump’s Will-Remember the White House is the People’s House, Not the Real Estate Property of Any President. The Constitution is Our Country’s Guiding Principles not the Will Of Donald Trump.

Every day, President Donald Trump makes important choices that affect all Americans and the world.

No other individual has the power and platform of the President of the United States. They can use their authority for the greatest good or for personal, political, and financial goals.

Which of those choices listed above would you say Donald Trump is using?

Removal Of The Constitution Page

The page about the Constitution was removed shortly after Donald Trump took office and has not returned. I know because I have been checking for it. Ask yourself: How does Trump’s removal of the Constitution page benefit him?

While I was on whitehouse.gov, I clicked on CONTACT US and read this: “In everything we do, my administration will be inspired by a strong pursuit of excellence and unrelenting success. We will not forget our country, we will not forget our Constitution, and we will not forget our God.” January 20, 2025 PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

Donald Trump raises his left hand while Melania Trump stands beside him, holding the Bible as he is sworn in. Clearly, he chose not to place his right hand on the Bible.
WHY WOULD A CHRISTIAN PRESIDENT TAKING AN OATH BE AFRAID TO PUT HIS HAND ON THE BIBLE?

Promises Made, Promises Kept

This section on whitehouse.gov is mostly about how great Donald Trump is as President and the promises he made.

“Since taking office, President Donald J. Trump has made history again and again for the faith community. “Since the founding of our nation, nobody has fought harder or gained more for believers, reversing the catastrophic policies of the previous administration while building on the winning legacy of his first term.

What winning legacy? Following his 2020 presidential loss, Trump made a myriad of false claims that the election was rigged. The Big Lie that Donald Trump spread, that the 2020 election was stolen from him, has been proven numerous times in the court system that Joe Biden was the winner, not him.

The court system also found Donald Trump guilty of trying to rig the 2020 election and convicted him on 34 felony counts.

Trump never misses an opportunity to blame his failures on the Democrats. What catastrophic policies of the previous administration of Joe Biden is he referring to? As usual, he says things and never presents any proof.

“President Trump has protected religious liberty and affirmed faith in America. He has fought anti-Christian, anti-Semitic, and other forms of anti-religious bias while ending the weaponization of government against all people of faith.

He has expanded school choice, protected parental rights, restored biological truth, uplifted families, ended illegal and divisive DEI policies, stopped taxpayer funding for abortion, restored free speech, and stood side-by-side with Israel. He is the most pro-faith and pro-religious liberty President in American History.

WOW! Anyone who believes that statement needs to dust off their Bible and start reading it. Whoever would have thought that an insurrectionist, convicted felon, and sexual abuser would ever be allowed to run for President of the United States? Talk about a broken system of accountability, liberty, and justice for all!

I always thought Donald Trump was an easy read. Big Lies and Big Beautiful Bills that suck the life out of the American people to serve himself and billionaires are what Donald Trump has always been about. The way he thinks is “what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is also mine.”

What about these statements Trump made? Which ones has he kept?

HOW MANY LIES WILL IT TAKE UNTIL YOU KNOW YOU’VE BEEN CONNED?

Victories? New Apostolic Reformation

Many Americans are puzzled and angry about the “Christians” support of Donald Trump. I cannot think of any other public figure whose behavior and untruths have turned so many people away from Christianity, especially young people.

Some of his supporters view him as divinely ordained and “chosen by God,” and some compare him to Jesus. Others see Trump as a morally flawed person handpicked by God to lead profound missions aimed at achieving overdue justice.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE SAYS AS A CHRISTIAN SHE WAS OFFENDED BY TRUMP’S POST

The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) or Neo-Apostolicism is a Christian Supremacist theological belief and controversial movement associated with the far right.

Trump has strong support from White Evangelical Christians, Christian Nationalists, and NAR. Many of his administration officials are also aligned with this Christian Supremacist group.

NAR advocates for spiritual warfare to bring about Christian dominion over all aspects of society and end or weaken the separation of church and state. NAR leaders often call themselves apostles and prophets.

There are many verses in the Bible that warn us about following false prophets. When it comes to Donald Trump, his public “Christian” identity does not model Christian behavior, nor does his violent rhetoric or political choices that harm those he swore to protect.

Then there is the Trump God Bless the U.S.A. Bible. This Bible has been a subject of criticism due to idolatry and mixing religion with political branding and profit for a presidential campaign product.

The Southern Poverty Law Center characterizes NAR as “the greatest threat to American democracy that most people have never heard of.”

PEOPLE PRAYING OVER TRUMP BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE HE IS CHOSEN BY GOD

Some of the “victories for people of faith” on the White House website that grabbed my attention were:

  • President Trump issued an executive order restoring free speech and ending federal censorship. (Really? What about Trump getting Stephen Colbert fired from his late show on CBS? And what about the documented history he has for trying to silence any person who brings the truth forward about him with non-disclosure agreements and lawsuits?) Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
  • President Trump issued an executive order on school choice, supporting parents’ rights to choose private, religious, or public charter schools for their children. (To the best of my knowledge, parents have always had the right to make those choices. However, if a parent chooses not to send their child to public school, they pay for the education, not the taxpayers). This implies that the taxpayers will also pay for private or religious education choices. Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
  • President Trump issued an executive order laying the groundwork to close the Department of Education. (For children with disabilities, the Department of Education was the last government agency a parent could file a Formal Complaint to when the local public school district was not honoring their child’s IEP (Individual Education Plan). My family had to hire an attorney and file three Formal Complaints with the Department of Education to get a free and appropriate public education for my son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
  • The Department of Education directed the departments of education in all 50 states to remove DEI programming from public schools. Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
  • President Trump issued an executive order restoring biological truth to the federal government and affirming the reality that there are only two sexes, male and female. Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
  • President Trump issued an executive order ending diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs in the federal government. Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
  • President Trump directed Vice President Vance to restore truth and sanity in American history, particularly in the Smithsonian Institution. (Informed Americans know why. Our nation’s history is extremely violent and heartbreaking. Its beginning could never be considered the birth of a Christian nation by the Creator. Recreating America’s history is Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
  • President Trump imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court for issuing baseless arrest warrants for key Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump’s Will not God’s Will.
Hearts and flowers border surrounding the words.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION ARE THE STRENGTHS OF OUR NATION

I believe Trump made an irreparable mistake by doing away with DEI. It was meant to give the most vulnerable children and adults a fair shot at being employed and living independent, successful lives.

His actions hurt single parents, the elderly, children and adults with lifelong disabilities, and families living in poverty whose lives are already stressed to the max.

Executive Orders

The key things to remember about Executive Orders are that the President’s constitutional role is to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” They are a policy tool, not a lawmaking tool. Presidents can influence how laws are applied, but they cannot rewrite laws.

Any attempt to use Executive Orders to bypass Congress or the Constitution would be subject to judicial review and likely be overturned. Many of his Executive Orders have prompted a flurry of lawsuits and are being overturned.

Trump will do and say anything to give his MAGA loyalists what they want to hear. Trump’s Executive Orders prove how uninformed he is about his responsibilities as president.

In scripture, God and Jesus are always on the side of the most vulnerable. What does your faith mean to you?

I would bet money that Donald Trump also never read the Sermon On The Mount. A Christian President would know and advocate for the poor, the grieving, the timid, the hungry, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, and the persecuted.

Jesus with his arms stretched, palms pointed to the sky, and a bright light behind him.

War Crimes And Genocide

Four photos: one with a first responder trying to resuscitate an infant; one with starving people in Gaza holding their pans out for food; a group of men carrying their deceased loved ones; and a mother walking through piles of rubble holding her toddler close to her.
NETANYAHU & TRUMP ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INHUMANITY OF WAR AND GENOCIDE

When I started to create this graphic about the war crimes and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, I didn’t think I was going to make it.

I will never understand the cruelty of war. So many innocent babies, children, and families are killed so some wealthy, powerful man can have his way. It is just wrong and heartbreaking.

War would never be God’s Will. The inhumanity captured in these photos is entirely because of Netanyahu and Trump. Two malignant narcissists who care only about themselves, control, and winning. The safety and future of its citizens is never a priority.

It is no secret that Netanyahu and Trump are in deep together. Not only in the Gaza Genocide but also in the illegal and unauthorized war they started with Iran. Trump and Netanyahu have blood on their hands.

Americans have been protesting wars and demanding NO MORE WARS FOR DECADES!

The Gaza Death Toll

According to Wikipedia, as of May 3, 2026, at least 75,811 people (73,770+ Palestinians and 2,039+ Israelis) have been reported killed in the Gaza War according to the Gaza Health Ministry and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Also, 270 journalists and media workers, 120 academics, and over 500 humanitarian aid workers were killed.

On November 21, 2024, following an investigation of War Crimes and crimes against humanity, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for two senior Israeli officers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Yoav Gallant, the former Minister of Defense of Israel.

The arrest warrants alleged their responsibility for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts during the Gaza War.

In the United States, the Civil War was the last time this level of death and destruction happened on our own soil. Have Americans just become numb to massive cruelty as long as the terror happens in other countries? Imagine how paralyzing it would be for your family, children, and grandchildren to try to survive one more day in war zones.

Trump’s Will “A Whole Civilization Will Die”

Bishop Talbert Swan created this meme about the War in Iran and the hypocrisy of Trump and the churches that support him. They are the same people who scream about pro-life and Christian values.
WAR IN IRAN WHEN TRUMP SPEAKS DEATH AND THE CHURCH GOES SILENT

It is the same old fear tactic that Republicans always use to justify senseless wars, that Iran or any other country should never be able to attain a nuclear weapon. Trump is the one who should never have access to the nuclear codes.

One of the big reasons Trump got elected in 2024 is that he said there would be no new wars. Americans are sick of wars and do not want taxpayer money to fund them! On and on. Ten years of lies. MAGA still falling for them.

WHAT A CHRISTIAN PRESIDENT WOULD AND WOULD NOT DO

How Do Views Of Trump Compare With Other Global Leaders?

According to Pew Research, from February 8 to May 13, 2026, they interviewed 42,151 adults in 36 countries.

Across 36 countries, a median of 23% of adults have confidence in U.S. President Donald Trump to do the right thing regarding world affairs.

Trump is either the leader with the lowest confidence rating or tied for lowest in many countries.

In Mexico, 11% have confidence in Trump; in Canada, 20% believe he will do the right thing.

In France, Germany, and Greece, confidence ratings are among the lowest of the leaders.

Among the Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, only 4% have confidence in Trump.

As you might have guessed, autocratic or populist-leaning states may see Trump’s assertiveness as an opportunity to renegotiate trade, security, or influence on more favorable terms. Those countries would be Colombia, Hungary, Israel, the Philippines, Argentina, Brazil, Ghana, Nigeria, and Peru.

Skepticism dominates in democratic and allied nations, with many citizens perceiving Trump as potentially dangerous or unreliable. Overall, he remains a controversial figure internationally.

Leaving MAGA

While researching, I noticed a growing number of MAGA Americans posting videos in which they express regret having voted for Donald Trump. Many were in tears and asking for help. I think they thought that if they voted for Trump, none of the cuts would be made to their healthcare premiums, food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, and other support services.

Farmers talk about losing their land and homes because they can’t find enough white people who want to work for a pittance in the brutal heat. Now their crops are wasting away in their fields. What a mistake to believe the immigrants were taking all the jobs away!

They are upset because friends and family members can no longer stand to be around them. They don’t think it is fair to shut them out because of their politics. Maybe they should have trusted and valued their friends and family members more than they trusted a man they never met.

It was their mistake not to believe Trump when he said, “I don’t care about you. I only care about your vote.” And when he said, “I don’t need your vote.” That is as blatant a betrayal as it gets!

MAGA, here are a few of the reasons why people are no longer available to you: Innocent people continue to be murdered by ICE. Children have been traumatized for life, seeing one or both of their parents being taken away. Human beings are being held in concentration camps in deplorable conditions. Pedophiles are being protected. Cover-ups have become the norm in the news and American politics. We the People are funding members of Congress who win big with insider trading deals. Trump destroyed an important part of the White House that was reserved for the First Ladies. He wants to let oil and gas companies drill in our National Parks and sacred lands of the Indian tribes. Donald Trump is getting away with war crimes and robbing the American people blind. You continue to believe in a man who wants you to think he is a Christian but never acts like one. NON-MAGAS are not okay with the cruel acts that we knew would happen if Trump got a second chance as president.

But the distancing has never been about politics. It has always been about moral values, ethics, decency, and equality.

What MAGA doesn’t understand is that when they cast their vote for Trump, the insurrectionist, convicted felon, sexual abuser, and pedophile protector, they voted for disdain and discrimination against immigrants, women, the gay community, the poor, the elderly, children and adults with disabilities, and every person who does not look like them, think like them, or worship like them.

And they voted for Billionaires to get even bigger tax breaks instead of the candidate who would have cared about them and their families and would not have taken away support services.

Many people over the years asked them to do one simple thing: RESEARCH FOR THE TRUTH. Because they failed to do that, all of us are paying the price.

Are 250 years of the brave fighting for liberty and justice for all worth abandoning for one man’s self-serving desires? And what about our ancestors and immigrants from cultures all over the world who helped build this nation? Don’t we all owe them our gratitude and respect for their courage, sacrifice, hard work, and guidance that we have benefited from? Search your soul and listen for the answer to: What would God and Jesus want for all Americans? And then ask yourself: Am I on the side of Trump or God?

  1. Thorough as always. Your blog should be in the history books for those people growing up and wanting to know how many (not all) americans became a cult.
